Sharing Your Resources
I recently had a chance to look through some social bookmarking sites. For those of you who don't know what a social bookmarking site is, it is a place for you to store all of your favorite web spots in one place. I use Yahoo! My Web. So if your out and about and don't have access to your most favorite sites you can pull them up. So say "So What? Big deal." O.K. We you can also make your bookmarks public so anyone could see them. Again, some of you might say "So What? Big deal. Who wants to visit my favorite site." I thought this way too. For a bit. But then I began to think of the social networking teachers could could create by posting there most beloved educational links. The collaboration that could go on. How many of us have heard someone talk about a great website only to forget it by the time we go to a computer? Now, never forget. It seems that our world is becoming stored on a computer. All the information we are learning, wanting to learn, or haven't yet realized we will learn is on our computer. Somewhere. Our job is to keep it all together. Somehow.

How do we reach our teachers?
I pose this question to all of you teachers using technology. How do we reach the teachers with little to know experience in technology. As I work on my Masters degree in technology I have found numerous ways to integrate technology into the classroom, however most cases, it is for grades 3 and up. I currently teach Kindergarten full time and work as our schools Technology Coordinator after school, maybe one or two nights a week. Most of that time is spent fixing printers or updating software. Rarely do I get to sit down with a group of teacher and help them develop technology in their classroom. Besides, I have my own classroom to worry about. I have tried in the past to run workshops send out news letters and so on, but it seems as though I can't keep up. In order to reach the teacher you need to bombard them constantly, hoping some of it will stick. So again I ask you, How do we reach them when there is no one to push the agenda full time.
The Creation of a Blog
So here begins the life of my blog. I am a first time blogger. I am not sure how I will take to this whole experience. What will be my use of this blog? Mostly to discover the world I am entering. Like I said this is my first time. I am a blogging virgin--a "blirgin", if you will. That's how this works, right? Just slam two words together to make a new one. Anyway, I want to use this opportunity to practice, read other blogs and see how the whole blogging world works. Maybe get some ideas for my school. Anything's possible.
